As of today, ‘Wonder Woman’ is a smash hit! The latest from Warner Bros. and DC Comics proves that there is still a pulse in the DC Extended Universe. With outstanding reviews from critics and fans, the film has delivered something truly special.
As of Sunday morning, the box office reports that Wonder Woman has reached $100.5 million in domestic theaters. According to Variety, when compared to previous super hero flicks, ‘Wonder Woman’ surpasses “Iron Man” ($98.6 million); “Doctor Strange” ($85 million); but less than “Deadpool” ($132 million) and “Man of Steel” ($116.6 million)
Update: Wonder Woman has now earned a powerful $233 million worldwide!
A 93% Rotten Tomatoes score is something the DCEU has not seen since its inception. When you compare Wonder Woman’s RT score with other super hero movies, this one is ranked very high. “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” (81%), Marvel’s The Avengers (92%) and ties with “Logan” (93%). However, it does not surpasses fellow DC super hero Batman with “The Dark Knight” (94%)
Director Patty Jenkins now holds the title for the best domestic opening for a female director. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston and David Thewlis.
