Artist Paints Mural on Melting Iceberg

“It’s a little ambitious to do this larger-than-life ice mural in the Arctic, and somehow, at the same time, make a connection to the human culture.”

Hawaiian artist, Hula aka Sean Yoro, spent 14 hours searching for the perfect iceberg canvas off the coast of Nunavut, Canada for his latest project, “What If You Fly.” Using paint brushes and a paddle board, he constructs a beautifully crafted mural of local indigenous model Jesse Mike.

Yoro states that the message he’s using with his art is to depict “indigenous women from various sites across the world, whose homelands are often threatened by the effects of global warming.”
