Get ready for a new way of sharing your favorite moments on your Snapchat story….if you’re really into Snapchat like that, of course.
Over the weekend, Snapchat announced that a brand new piece of hardware is coming soon called Spectacles. This new product from Snapchat, now changing their name to Snap Inc., is basically a pair of sunglasses with a built-in camera to record Snaps.
The company’s CEO, Evan Spiegel, commented on the new name, “Now that we are developing new products, like Spectacles, we need a name that goes beyond just one product.” According to their website, Snap Inc. is now described as “a camera company.”
Check out these videos on Spectacles:
Spectacles will be wirelessly connected to your phone. Once you finish your recording, it will automatically upload to your Snapchat story. Sharing stories can now be hands-free and overall easier. The camera built in the sunglasses is capable or recording “A day’s worth of Snaps in a single charge.”
Available in black, teal, and coral, Spectacles will cost $129.99. No specific release date was announced, but Spiegel told The Wall Street Journal, “We’re going to take a slow approach to rolling them out. It’s about us figuring out if it fits into people’s lives and seeing how they like it.”
But, what do you folks think of Spectacles? Do you see yourselves sharing stories with this new flashy product? Will Spectacles add more to your Snachat addiction?
