The Blade Runner sequel has officially been in production since July. On Thursday, the production company Alcon Entertainment confirmed a fatal accident happened when a piece of the set collapsed, killing a construction worker.
According to Mashable, production in Hungary wrapped. However, a construction crew stayed behind to dismantle the sets. The construction worker was positioned underneath a platform when the accident occurred.
An investigation is underway. More details are expected to surface soon.
The ‘Blade Runner’ sequel is being directed by Denis Villeneuve and has Harrison Ford returning to the role of Rick Deckard. Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, and Robin Wright are also attached to the highly anticipated sequel to the Ridley Scott sci-fi classic.
Blade Runner 2 is to open in cinemas on Oct. 6, 2017.
