It was truly an epic weekend for all nerds around the world! Whether you stayed glued to your phone or computer and viewed live tweets about certain panels, or if you actually went to the event, or if you went to Comic-Con badge less (like we did), then you must know by now that this past weekend’s Comic-Con was definitely historic.
There was so much showcased in San Diego, it’s difficult to say which were the best moments. Here’s some highlights of all the things that went down in San Diego over the weekend.
STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS
J.J. Abrams and the cast of ‘The Force Awakens’ showed up with a very cool BTS video of the latest Star Wars film that hits theaters this December.
The popular video game franchise is coming to the big screen! Legendary showed off exclusive character art for the upcoming film.
Ryan Reynolds took the stage and gave everyone in the audience a trailer for the upcoming Deadpool movie coming to theaters this February. The trailer is not online yet, but it should be in a couple of weeks.
The cast of the latest X-Men film joined Chris Hardwick on stage and presented a trailer that features all the X-Men against the new villain ‘Apocalypse’ played by Oscar Isaac. X-Men Apocalypse comes to theaters May 2016. The trailer has not bee posted online yet, but here’s a poster that teases a look on Apocalypse.
Fans of the popular show HEROES got a trailer for HEROES REBORN. Just when you thought that show was cancelled. Nope!
BRYAN CRANSTON AND “YOUR MOTHER”
He literally dropped the mic too!
Director David Ayer and the cast of Suicide Squad joined the audience in watching an exclusive trailer for the upcoming DC film featuring all the villains such as Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and The Joker.
The trailer is not online yet, but be on the look out for it in the near future. They revealed their logo for the film.
BATMAN V SUPERMAN DAWN OF JUSTICE
The night before the ‘Batman v Superman’ panel, director Zack Snyder rode in Batfleck’s Batmobile outside the convention center and threw T-Shirts at people. That’s so cool!
The panel itself included the cast of the highly anticipated film. Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and the rest of the cast answered questions and of course, presented a new trailer!
The trailer received millions and millions of views on YouTube in just 24 hours! The trailer also shows Wonder Woman in action….and she looks glorious!
In my honest opinion, the thing that makes Comic-Con so great is always the fans. At the end of the day, Marvel didn’t win, DC didn’t win, we win. The fans of everything pop culture around the world are the ones who won SDCC. We show our dedication to this stuff by standing in long lines after long lines.
Although we didn’t have badges to go into the show, there was a massive amount of people gathered outside the convention center and down town San Diego!
As I walked down the streets of down town, I noticed the same amount of passion and love people have for their fandom.
I have an enormous amount of love and respect for cosplayers who put in hard work and long hours to perfect their costume. Whether you’re dressing up as Dr. Who, Batman, Spiderman, or Princess Peach, you’re all right in my book.
See ya next year, Comic-Con! Next time, I won’t get kicked out by security for trying to sneak in.
Here’s some shots I took with my cousins Araceli, Alex, Jessica, Melissa and AD. Thanks Tia Lucy for letting us stay at your house!
