Brad Bird confirms “Incredibles 2” and “Iron Giant” coming back to theaters?


With TomorrowLand coming to theaters this month, director Brad Bird has confirmed that his next project is in fact ‘The Incredibles 2’! He hasn’t really said whether or not he’s coming back to direct it, but you can bet your bottom dollar his eyes are definitely set on this long-awaited sequel.

Another potential project for Bird is the second Star Wars anthology film. Since Josh Trank is no longer directing it, Brad Bird’s name has been tossed into the hat.

Bird stated, “Well Kathy (Kathleen Kennedy) and I have discussed the possibility of- I mean, she’s basically saying that this is a very large sandbox and other people can play in it…”

It seems that the possibility of Brad Bird doing a Star Wars film is still up in the air. But expect to see him focus more on “Incredibles 2” first.

And if that’s not enough Brad Bird for you, check this out: he went on and stated that he is pushing for his animated classic “The Iron Giant” to get a theatrical re-release! And it looks like Warner Bros. is liking this idea. Yes, please!


Over the years, Brad Bird has given us some very memorable films. With “The Iron Giant” and “The Incredibles” being well-appreciated animated classics amongst fans, he’s also been successful in transitioning to live-action films.


Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was praised by critics and is the highest grossing film in the franchise.

His next live-action film “TomorrowLand” starring George Clooney hits theaters May 22nd.
